Tuesday Evening Publications Facilitates Better

Arterial Fluid Dilution with Launch of Free

Mobile App

SUNLAND,CA—

Tuesday Evening Publications

is

giving funeral service students and licensed embalm-

ers another option in calculating their embalming so-

lutions with the free mobile app suitably named the

Embalm Calc. With this tool, embalmers and students

will no longer have to rely on “back of the envelope”

calculations when determining what quantity of arte-

rial fluid to use in their solutions. With the Embalm

Calc- available for free on The App Store, Google Play

and Amazon store- users will be able to enter their

known values into the fluid calculation and instantly

have their answer.

Co-founders of Tuesday Evening Publications

Damon

de la Cruz,

PhD and

Robert Homes,

PhD believe in

the importance of balancing both the subjective and ob-

jective that comes from embalming case analysis.

“As embalmers we consider ourselves artists, and the

restoration of the deceased in our care is important

to us and the families we serve. However, we must re-

member that this art is firmly rooted in science and

the Embalm Calc will aid funeral service students and

professionals in its application” said Dr. de la Cruz.

As a centerpiece of the funeral service profession re-

gardless of disposition, embalming is a key component

to helping grieving families. Too often embalmers rely

on their “standard fluid mix” leading to under preser-

vation of loved ones in their care. This can lead to dis-

satisfied customers or potential law suits for neglect.

Embalm Calc is fun and easy way for an embalmer

to quantify their fluid requirements in order to en-

sure they are using the correct amount of fluid to

meet their preservation demands.

Likewise, when students are introduced to the fluid

calculation, some tend to struggle with understand-

ing all the components.

Educators can use the

Embalm Calc to supple-

ment their teaching and

students can practice its

application, creating the

good habit of using the

fluid calculation as part

of their analysis rather

than fearing having to do the math.

The release of the Embalm Calc has caught the at-

tention of educators for who use it both as a class-

room tool and when teaching students in real world

scenarios.

• “This is so cool!!! Thank you!!! –

Karen Scott,

Mor-

tuary Science Program Director,

Malcom X College

• “Finally! Thank you so much for this handy tool! I

am working with students as a preceptor and this

will help immensely!” -Jediute

• “This has really helped my students understand

the components of the fluid calculation and how

they work together.” –

Ben Schmidt,

Embalming

Theory and Practicum Instructor,

Worsham College

of Mortuary Science
