I wanted a few items to be

on display such as some pho-

tos and a bench in her hon-

or. They embraced all of my

wishes and made it all hap-

pen and look wonderful. I

felt that they genuinely cared

and wanted to do whatever I

wanted during this time to

honor Mom’s wishes. Even

months after Mom’s funeral,

I have called Graham Funer-

al Home and met with Ter-

ri. She continues to demon-

strate the respect, friendship

and helpfulness I saw dur-

ing those first few days. In

the end, everything that was

done for Mom was exactly as

I hoped and what she would

have wanted. I will continue

to recommend not only Gra-

ham Funeral Home, but Ter-

ri to everyone.”

One family whom Cassa-

day-Turkle Christian Funeral

Home helped shared the fol-

lowing: “Our grandson has

always liked this particular fu-

neral home because they had

root beer barrels in their can-

dy dishes. We share this be-

cause as a small child, he told

another funeral director that

he needed to get root beer

barrels like John Christian.

Sure enough, the candy dish-

es were full of root beer bar-

rels when we arrived for the

funeral service. Back in 1987

when our three children lost

their first grandparent, John

took them aside and talked to

them about their loss. They

still remember how John also

helped them cope with their

grief as they dealt with the

loss of their last grandparent.

The special attention given

to the family of the deceased

is what sets Cassaday-Turkle

Christian Funeral Home

apart from the other funeral

homes in our area.”

“The service that each

of these Exemplary Ser-

vice Award winners provid-

ed is just an example. We

are proud that our member

firms practice the basis on

which we were founded, The

Golden Rule,” said OGR

Immediate Past President Pe-

ter “Skip” Urban.

Founded in 1928, OGR is

affiliated with independent

funeral homes throughout

North America and overseas

that share common goals of

exemplary service, uncom-

promising care and compas-

sion to families in their time

of need. For more informa-
