The Golden Light Award is
the association’s highest hon-
or, and it recognizes an indi-
vidual who has made specif-
ic, meritorious contributions
to society through his or her
profession, community or
field of voluntary service as
career achievements.
President Castiglia said,
“George puts his heart and
soul into his community.
He has the curiosity to pick
up new ideas everywhere he
goes and the intellect to ap-
ply those ideas to funeral ser-
vice in ways that benefit the
families he serves, his staff
and his family.”

sworn in as a first-time board member to a
two-year term.
When asked for his vision for OGR, Presi-
dent Charles Castiglia said, “We’re going to
make bold decisions that will provide Golden
Rule Funeral Homes with innovative and ef-
fective ways to help families and friends who
lose loved ones to begin a journey of healing
through meaningful tributes to their lives.”
Castiglia is a Licensed Funeral Director in
New York State with an AOS in Funeral Ser-
vice from Simmons Institute of Funeral Ser-
vice, a BS in Business Management from
Houghton College, and an MS in Strategic
Leadership from Robert’s Wesleyan College.
