FEATURED
“My family is always looking for more ways to share our
story. Being featured on the directory cover was a great oppor-
tunity to share our roots and our core values with funeral profes-
sionals across the country.”
– Linda Darby, CEO
Sunset Funeral Home and Trigard, Danville, IL, 2009 Cover
“It was indeed an honor
for our funeral home to be
featured on your cover with
the story on the inside of
our history which reinforced
that “We did build our busi-
ness” and did it well.”
“I am truly honored and hum-
bled that Russo’s Hillside Cha-
pels was chosen to be the fea-
tured funeral home of the year
and shared with the funeral
industry across the nation.
I hope my story inspires all
other funeral homes to always
pursue their goals because,

response to TLC’s Television Show
“Best Funeral Ever”
ATLANTA,GA—
Gregory
T. Burrell
, president of the
National Funeral Direc-
tors and Morticians As-
sociation, Inc
., along with
many other funeral profes-
sionals across the country,
is outraged at the airing of
the show
Best Funeral Ever
.
“We want to express our
sincere apology to those
persons who are experi-
encing the loss of a loved
one and were subject to the
airing of the show,” stated
Burrell.
“It is the position of the
National Funeral Directors
and Morticians Associa-
tion, Inc. that we are not in
favor of any person or me-
dia which degrades the fu-
neral industry. The funeral
profession is above many
others because it is one
that must console those
who deal with personal cri-
sis while battling through
grief and dealing with the
loss of a loved one. The
show, Best Funeral Ever is
not an appropriate subject
matter in light of the trage-
dies we have just witnessed
in Connecticut.
“We would like to ex-
press to the general public
and media that this show
does not in any way re-
flect how most funeral ser-
vice professionals conduct
funeral services. Our in-
dustry colleagues conduct
dignified, sacred and pro-
fessional services to hon-
or the life of the deceased
person. We are very disap-
pointed that the TLC net-
work would use the media
to produce and air a show
which would not do the
same.”

The article “Carriage Services Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend” on Page A21
of the December 2012 issue contained a numerical error. The correct statement is
that “Carriage Services, Inc. has announced that its Board of Directors recently de-
clared the quarterly dividend of $.025 per share payable on December 3, 2012 to
common share record holders as of November 13, 2012.” For complete results visit
