were special
guests of honor and recipi-
ents of FNA’s Distinguished
Professional Service Award,
the highest honor present-
ed by Fountain National
Academy, which recogniz-
es many years of service to
the profession of embalm-
ing both inside and out-
side of the prep room. Em-
balmers
James Allemond,
Donald Ray Kellerhall,
and
Megan E. Mathew-
son
also received Distin-
guished Professional Ser-
vice Award Medallions to
recognize their unwavering
dedication to this honor-
able profession. The FNA
Distinguished Professional
Service Awards were devel-
oped in August of 2010 to
honor individuals for their
efforts toward preserving
and furthering the profes-
sion of embalming with the

goal of open-casket viewing. These individuals have unself-
ishly shared their knowledge and technical skills with em-
balmers around the world. As a result of their unique skill
and effort, they have given grieving families the opportuni-
ty to have the most personalized portion of a funeral—the
