announced its Young Pro-

fessionals Event, “Shatter

Expectations: Takeaways

The International Order

of the Golden Rule

(OGR) is excited to

host its 58th Annual Conference & Sup-

plier Showcase in New Orleans, LA this

April.

“This conference has been designed to

provide attendees with valuable takeaways

to capitalize on the new normal in funer-

al service and provide them with ways to

keep their businesses above ground. In ad-

dition, the Supplier Showcase will feature

top suppliers in the industry,” said

executive director and CEO for

OGR. “This annual event is a great op-

portunity for independent funeral home

owners and staff to learn new ideas and

gather tools to succeed in the ever chang-

ing funeral service profession.”

Attendees will tackle ways to woo and

wow the new funeral family. They’ll also

learn from experts how to differentiate

their firms from competitors, present the

open casket as a valuable option, deliver

value to cremation families, and much

more. These sessions and the Great Ideas

Exchange will provide attendees with the

information they need to thrive 2017.

In addition to education, attendees

will enjoy an incredible lineup of events

planned at the New Orleans destination

with a Welcome to the Big Easy Party fea-

turing a jazz band, local food and drinks.

Showcase to share how their unique and

cookie-cutter funerals to

help families plan mean-

ingful funeral and me-

morial services. Attendees

will also have the opportu-

nity to share their areas of

expertise with each other

in roundtable sessions and

short educational presen-

tations. This two-and-a-

half day event will feature

a generous mix of educa-

tion peppered with a taste

of Austin food, fun and

culture. “Shatter Expecta-

tions” will feature excur-

sions around Austin, edu-

cation sessions over happy

hour, and dining at restau-

rants around town so at-

tendees can experience the

will be hosting

their 12th annual Convention, March 28– 29,

2017 at the Harbor Hotel, Watkins Glen. This

2- day event will attract both New York and
