The Leadership Academy, launched in 2013, was designed to: identify, in- spire and mentor emerging leaders in funeral service; provide leadership de- velopment training programs tailored specifically to funeral directors; recog- nize the value of diversity in the fu- ture success of funeral director associ- ations; develop a lifelong professional network of funeral service leaders; and facilitate the promotion of new funer- al directors into leadership positions at the state and local level. The Academy addresses pressing issues facing funeral directors and business professionals alike. “I am excited to see another class of funeral directors graduate from the NYSFDA Leadership Academy. These funeral directors are poised to make a positive impact in the profession, and this intensive training will serve them well as they take the next steps in their careers,” said Michael A.
