Final Em-
brace
is rolling out an optional patriotic cot cover lining
at the 2014
NFDA
Convention and Expo in Nashville.
“Our old patriotic covers have always been popular,” says
Timothy Totten,
managing partner of Final Embrace. “But
we’ve seen a big increase in requests for new ways to honor
veterans as funeral homes serve more of these families.”
The new Patriot lining option, which replaces the standard
black FluidBlocker lining, is made to resemble an American
flag while still honoring the United States flag code, provid-
ing the same protective properties as the original lining.
“Our FluidBlocker is a revolutionary fabric originally
designed for outdoor and mountain climbing gear,” says
Totten. “We use this completely waterproof fabric for the
star field and the stripes of the new lining, resulting in a
high-quality nylon barrier against fluid transfer.”
When serving a typical family, the funeral home utiliz-
es the cover in a traditional way, with the patriotic lining
hidden. Once it is ascertained that the deceased is a vet-
eran, the removal staff can reverse the cover to expose the
lining and honor the service of the client.

Lundgren Monuments
is pleased to an-
nounce installation of a new memorial in Wyoming, IL.
This monument is a very special collaboration between
many skilled parties. Designed by architect
George Miller-
Ramos
(Natalie’s husband), this granite, glass and stain-
less steel monument is a rugged and smartly considered
monument, down to the smallest details.
The glass element is 2” thick, and composed of 4 lay-
ers of 0.5
tempered safety glass. Sandwiched between the
layers are white gold leafed letters, insured to last centuries
without damage from UV or heat. The glass is contained
within a solid core stainless steel frame, and anchored into
a stainless steel and granite base. The steel components,
fabricated by
Paolo Croatto,
were fabricated with great pre-
cision and detail, with a recessed bud vase on one side and
plugs to accept a future upright element for Ramos.
Etched into the topside of the steel is text and graph-
ics prepared by Ramos, which is both subtle and endur-
