He is the pres- ident and owner of Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc in Scottdale, which is a five- time recipient of the Na- tional Funeral Directors As- sociations Eagle Award. Capaul elected to Michigan FDA Board of Directors OKEMOS,MI— Benjamin Capaul of Capaul Funeral Home in Ida, was recently elected to the board of di- rectors of the Michigan Fu- neral Directors Association. In his new role as a member of the board from District 2, Capaul will represent as- sociation members primari- ly from Southeast Michigan. A fourth-generation funer- al director and an Ida native, Capaul earned an Associ- ate of Science Degree from Monroe County Commu- nity College before enroll- ing at Wayne State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mortuary Science. Capaul has served on nu- merous association boards over the years and is a founding member of the as- sociation’s RELAY (Recently Licensed and Young) Funer- al Professionals’ group. He and his wife, Denielle, have two children. Capaul is the son of Da- vid and Patty Capaul. Da- vid is manager and own- er of the funeral home and his wife is one of the office managers. David’s mother, Joann Smallidge, is part owner and an office man- ager. David’s father, Wil- liam Capaul, also served on the board before his death in 1990.
