Metro Pioneer Cemetery One Stone
At A Time Project; Williams elected to
Bereavement Board
up of the project. After a
bid process was complete,
Metro decided that a com-
pany called
Donovan and
Associates
,
established
in 1987 to provide a vari-
ety of historic preservation
consulting services for both
public and private sectors,
was the best company for
the job, and hired them to
begin the
One Stone At A
Time Project
. Donovan and
Associates have been pres-
ent in the cemetery start-
ing in and around Block
1, the oldest section of the
cemetery with burials dat-
ing back to 1846, near the
namesake Lone Fir. There
has been positive cover-
age from local news and
positive feedback from the
community who are happy
to see the cemetery’s pro-
prietor putting funds raised
from other events back into
the cemetery.

Stone repair and restoration at Lone Fir Cemetery
PORTLAND,OR—
Metro Cemetery Pro-
gram and Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery
(FLFC) recently embarked on a project to
survey
Lone Fir Cemetery
for stones in
need of preventative repair and restoration.
