CHICAGO,IL—
A Simple Thank You
donated its ser-
vices to the family of Chicago firefighter
Capt. Herbert
“Herbie” Johnson
. The 33-year veteran of the Chicago
Fire Department died a hero while battling a house fire
on November 2, 2012.
The 54-year-old Johnson was part of the local del-
egation of firefighters that traveled to New York City
after 9/11 to help with rescue efforts.
Thousands waited in line at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine
Chapel for hours to pay respects to the local hero. While
waiting, visitors signed in using a digital guest book reg-
istry provided by A Simple Thank You. The company
will take that information and provide the family with
a printed memorial guest book, print custom thank you
cards, and most importantly, address the thousands of
envelopes of those that registered.
The burden of trying to address envelopes during
this very difficult and emotional time would be over-
whelming had it not been for the services of A Sim-
ple Thank You. We are very proud to have been able
to help the Johnson family during their time of need.

BOWLING GREEN,VA—
In 2007,
David Storke
,
funeral director at
Storke
Funeral Home
, start-
ed offering “A Comfort-
ing Alternative to Flow-
ers” through his company,
Sympa t hyFood . com
.
David was amazed at the
large amount of money
spent each year on flow-
ers, which ultimately
wither and die, as a sym-
pathetic expression to
family and friends expe-
riencing a loss. He rec-
ognized the need to of-
fer another option to
senders with good inten-
tions. Food has also been
a comforting gift during
these times, but distance
or schedules don’t always
allow for preparation or
delivery. David devised a
way that accommodated
those that could not be
there in person, were too
busy or simply couldn’t
cook to provide healthy,
nourishing comfort food
to their grieving loved
ones.
For five years, Sympa-
thyFood.com has deliv-
ered home-style meals to
the tables of those griev-
ing throughout the con-
tinental United States.
The timeless tradition of
bringing over a meal to
someone who is experi-
encing a loss is as robust
as ever. Working to make
sure that quality meals are
delivered in a timely fash-
ion, David has accom-
plished much, in addition
to his thriving funeral
home.
In April, SympathyFood.
com expanded under the
new parent company,
TheTLCKitchen.com
to
include GetWellMeal.com
and TheMealStork.com
to offer the same quali-
ty service to those suffer-
ing through illness or wel-
coming a new member of
the family. The three sub-
sidiaries work hand in
hand to offer wholesome,
comforting meals to peo-
ple faced with these ma-
jor life events that can be
warmed up and enjoyed
without the hassle of plan-
ning or grocery shopping.
A personal touch is includ-
ed that stands above most
dotcom businesses in that
a representative from The
TLC Kitchen will call the
recipient to notify them of
their kind gift. A heartfelt
card is also included with
each meal.
David also wanted to of-
fer a way to include his fel-
low funeral directors in his
venture. Funeral homes
can become affiliates of
TheTLCKitchen.com by
placing a Sympathy Food
banner on their website.
It’s an effortless way to add
to their bottom line as well
as compliment the funeral
industry amenities.
SympathyFood.com is
all about comfort dur-
ing a time of stress in a
family’s life. Along with
its sister subsidiaries,
and
it
will continue to grow and
serve families, leading the
way with integrity, quality
and care.
