Modern Convenience” NGL Adds to its Team Michael Simenstad Melissa Posey Loose MADISON,WI— National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL) has announced the addition of Michael Simenstad and Melissa Posey Loose to its team. Simenstad will serve as the company’s regional vice president, individual products while Loose acts as the assistant vice president, marketing communications. With three decades of experience as a territory manager and financial services wholesaler, Simenstad is passionate about creating awareness for the value of long-term care insurance and creating authentic relationships. In his new role at NGL, Simenstad will focus on maintaining and developing strategic partnerships with current and potential long-term care (LTC) marketing organizations and agents. As a member of the individual products team, he will work with Joe Guyotte, national sales manager, long-term care on implementing marketing plans designed for sales and revenue growth. “We are excited to welcome Michael to our team. His deep roots in long-term care insurance span 30 years and includes key roles within some of the most respected organizations in the LTC industry. His depth of experience, long standing relationships and tenacity to achieve goals will assist us as we work toward achieving our vision of being a top insurance carrier in the long-term care marketplace,” said Guyotte. Prior to joining NGL, Simenstad was a sales consultant with LTCI Partners where he partnered with financial advisors and insurance agents to integrate LTC planning into their practice. He was also a wholesaler for multiple companies selling longterm care insurance, including the New York Life Insurance Company. Simenstad utilizes his personal caregiving knowledge to help others understand the financial and emotional benefits families experience when a long-term care plan is in place. Like many people who become caregivers for loved ones, he wasn’t prepared for or trained how being the primary caregiver for his grandmother, largely due to being close in proximity, would impact his relationship with her or the toll it would have on his personal life. “Primary caregivers have a lot of responsibilities and having a long-term care plan in place helps manage the situation and make it easier to navigate the day-to-day challenges,” said Simenstad. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from University of Arizona. He also holds a FINRA Series 6, 63 life and health producer license. Melissa Posey Loose has more than 25 years of diverse experience in delivering training, developing marketing campaigns and collateral, writing and editing publications, and creating partnerships. She will lead the marketing and communications teams in the development of strategic internal and external marketing communications plans to promote NGL’s brand and further enhance NGL’s position as a leader in the preneed insurance industry. “We are excited for Melissa to join our team, with her expertise in marketing and communications, combined with a funeral home background she will continue to enhance our offerings for everyone who partners with NGL,” said Jessica Grann, senior vice president, chief culture and communications officer at NGL. Prior to joining NGL, Loose was training and development manager for National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) where she directed program planning, partnership development, and implementation of both NFDA’s annual Professional Women’s Conference and NFDA’s Arranger Training programming for domestic and international audiences. She was also director of marketing and community relations for Posey Funeral Directors where she developed several award-winning community partnership programs as she managed the public relations and marketing functions for the funeral group. Loose is well-versed in the preneed marketplace and has a thorough understanding of how to serve families through her experience as a licensed funeral director in South Carolina where she led families through the process of arranging memorialization opportunities and selecting goods and services for funeral services. “I am honored to join NGL, an organization rooted in compassionate commitment to its marketing partners, corporate team members, agents and the families who invest in its products. NGL defines integrity in the quality of service rendered. I’ve seen this on a first-hand basis in the death care sector, and I’m looking forward to contributing to this continued model for success in the broader insurance industry,” said Loose.
