All con- tributions to this year’s event directly support academic scholarships in the funeral profession. For the third year in a row, The Dodge Company and Consolidated Funeral Services (CFS) served as the Clas- sic’s Major Co-benefactors, each “chipping in” $12,500 in direct support of scholarships. “Dodge is honored to once again ‘chip in’ as a major co-benefactor for the Funeral Service Foundation’s Golf Classic,” said Tim Collison, COO of The Dodge Com- pany in Billerica, Massachusetts. “A strong education is key to a fulfilling career, and we are proud to support Foundation scholarships for the profession’s next genera- tion of leaders.” “The profession is continually evolving, and this year is no exception,” said Peter Richardson, who co-found- ed CFS in Needham Heights, MA with Felix Tsatskis. “A solid education is key to be able to adapt to a chang- ing professional landscape, and we’re pleased to help the Foundation make education accessible to students,” add- ed Tsatskis. Service Corporation International (SCI) has contrib- uted to the annual event as a $10,000 Presenting Sup- porter since 2016. “Students can count on the Founda- tion to help them make their funeral service education a reality,” said Eric Tanzberger, senior vice president and CFO of Service Corporation International in Houston, TX. “And we can count on the Funeral Service Founda- tion to invest in people and programs to strengthen fu- neral service.” “Our contributors understand that even in a year where we can’t gather together on the course, there is still a great need to come together in solidarity to strengthen our profession,” said Foundation executive director, Lee Wiensch, CFRE. In addition to academic scholarships, the Founda- tion offers a suite of con- tinuing education schol- arships and opportunities designed to help funeral professionals throughout their careers. More than 700 funeral service profes- sionals benefit from Foun- dation scholarships and op- portunities each year. Since 1945, the Funer- al Service Foundation has served as the philanthrop- ic voice of the funeral pro- fession and has identified as the charitable arm of the National Funeral Direc- tors Association since 1997.
