The outing had been postponed with the hopes of still having it in August if the social distancing protocols set by the golf course were eased. However, with the current rise in COVID-19 cases in Ohio, it became evident that things will not be changing anytime soon. The restrictions in place would have eliminated all group gatherings, including the dinner, awards and door prize presentations, and even driving range and practice green activity. It would not have been fair to the many spon- sors and participants to move forward with what would have only been a socially distanced 18 holes of golf. The installation followed a virtual vote by the members of the association’s executive board of directors. A Virginia-licensed fu- neral director for 27 years, White will serve as president for the 2020-21 term. White has been a member of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association his entire fu- neral service career. He has served as a mem- ber and chairman of numerous committees and has been seated on the executive board of directors for the past five years.
