Ben, Steve and Carlos will each be promoted to Execu- tive Vice President and assume new responsibilities and duties as follows: Ben Brink joined Carriage in January 2009 and recent- ly became our Principal Financial Officer in addition to his prior roles as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Ben will be responsible for all Houston Support Cen- ter Teams related to Capi- tal Structure Strategy and Execution, Investor Rela- tions, Treasury, Account- ing and Reporting, Inter- nal Audit, Tax, and Trust Management Administra- tion and Compliance. Ben graduated from the Uni- versity of Tennessee with a B.S. in Finance and served as Cash Manager for Inter- national Paper before join- ing Carriage. Steve Metzger joined Carriage in May 2018. Steve’s responsibilities as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Of- ficer will now include le- gal, human resources, risk management, acquisitions and divestitures and gov- ernance. Steve received his Juris Doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to Carriage, Steve served as Senior Vice President, General Coun- sel and Secretary for a publicly traded company in the restaurant indus- try and prior to that spent seven years with Service Corporation International in various leadership roles within the Legal Depart- ment. Carlos Quezada joined Carriage in June of 2020 in the midst of the Coronavi- rus Pandemic. Carlos is be- ing promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, respon- sible for all Field Opera- tional and Sales Teams and Businesses. Carlos will also assume responsibility for Information Technolo- gy Teams in our Houston Support Center. Prior to joining Carriage, Carlos was a Managing Di- rector for Service Corpo- ration International from 2009 to 2020.
