Churchman 2021 100BWFS P henomenal W omen of L eadership Science, she obtained a PhD in interpersonal and public com- munications, with a dissertation focused on African Ameri- can embalmers from Bowling Green University. Dr. Churchman is president of the Epsilon nu Delta Mor- tuary Fraternity Inc, was former education commissioner of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, is a member of the 100 Black Women of Funeral Service, Garden State Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funer- al Directors Association. She has served on the Science Exam Committee of the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, American Board of Funeral Service Educa- tion Accreditation Team and the Funeral Ethics Association. A role model, mentor and trailblazer, Dr. Churchman cre- ated the Churchman Funeral Home Scholarship fund and con- tinues to assist needy students entering the funeral profession. She is applauded for her many accomplishments and is loved by her funeral colleagues and the New Jersey families that have supported the Churchman family for more than 100 years.
