The funeral homes, which have been serving their com- munities for over 40 years, were formerly owned by William “Bill” and Patri- cia “Pat” Peoples. Greg Rollings, president and CEO of Rollings Fu- neral Service, commented “I was so excited to bring Cawley & Peoples Funer- al Homes into Rollings Funeral Service. Not only have they built a long her- itage in their community, but they’ve also established a fantastic funeral history museum that aims to show us the rich traditions of fu- neral service throughout American history. I look forward to this new acqui- sition and helping Bill and Pat to continue their hard- built legacy.” Rollings also added that this marks his fifth funeral home in Ohio. Speaking with Bill Peo- ples, he mentioned that with nearly 50 years as a li- censed funeral director and over 40 years of owning his own funeral home, it was time to start living life in the “slow lane.” When asked why he decided to sell his firm to Rollings Fu- neral Service, Peoples said “Greg and Debbie Roll- ings intend to maintain our current employees, which was a high prior- ity for us to consider. The name of the business will continue as well.” Also see- ing how professional ev- eryone at Rollings Funer- al Service was and the care they had for his communi- ty and history of the busi- ness is also something that left Peoples feeling every- thing was in good hands. When asked about his overall thoughts of the pro- cess, Peoples mentioned “Rollings brings a lot to the table. We’re proud to be affiliated with them and we have absolutely no re- grets.” Annually, Cawley & Peo- ples Funeral Homes serve around 130 families. Rollings Funeral Service Reflects on Their Continued Growth in 2020 Rollings Funeral Service is looking back on anoth- er successful year of con- tinued growth as they head towards 2021. De- spite the challenges faced from the pandemic, this past year saw the addition of two new full-time po- sitions to their corporate body and the acquisition of 15 new locations. This growth marks a shift for Rollings Funeral Service as they continue to lay a strong foundation for the year ahead. In 2020, Rollings Funer- al Service was proud to an- nounce the acquisition of: Bethany Funeral Home (Nebraska), Braman Mor- tuary & Cremation Ser- vices (two locations in Nebraska), Brooks Lyon Funeral Home (Virginia), Cawley & Peoples Funer- al Home (three locations in Ohio), Dugan Fu- neral Chapel & Crema- tion Services (Nebraska), Hubbard Funeral Home (Maryland), Kimes Fu- neral Home&Cremation Services (West Virgin- ia), Livingston-Sonder- mann Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services (Ne- braska), Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home (Vir- Continued on Page A29 Scan QR for our website 1-888-792-9315 • mymortuarycooler.com Mortuary Coolers starting at $4,299 Beat the price increase increase coming March 2021
