So, it makes sense that helpful and comforting grief information will resonate with them. Here are several Facebook pages with great content for sharing. • National Alliance for Children’s Grief (NACG) • Compassionate Friends/USA • Alliance of Hope for Suicide Loss Survivors • What’s Your Grief • Refuge in Grief Lifestyle-Related Content The target audience of most funeral and cemetery businesses is people over 50. Therefore, it can be help- ful to share articles and posts that are relevant for older Americans. Here are several organizations with active Facebook pages and great content for sharing. • AARP • Senior Planet • ChangingAging.org Sharing Facebook content can be a great way to add interesting images, videos, and articles to your Face- book page. Even better, it is easier and quicker than creating your own original content. tions to keep up on the latest announcements and sharing their content. Be sure to ask if they have collections of Facebook content that you can use. Religious Organizations Religious Organizations may also have great content. For example, Catholic organizations often share Face- book content regarding specific feast days and holidays. Of course, you will need to pick and choose the content that resonates with your community and the families you serve. If you serve a significant number of families from a specific faith tradition, be sure to explore the Facebook pages for those religious organizations. • Christianity Today • Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary • Billy Graham • The United Methodist Church • Catholic Online • Our Jewish Community • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints While it is helpful to create your own Facebook con- tent, there are some days when you would rather let someone else do the work. Before examining the list of resources, it is important to remember that individuals and companies own the copyright for their own images and words. Although social media often feels like the Wild West when it comes to copyright infringement, you will want to be careful. Perhaps the easiest thing to do is find a source on Facebook and simply share the content to your page. Facebook will automatically show that this is a shared image, video, or article and the reader can see the origi- nal poster of the content. All individuals and business- es who are on Facebook love to have people share their content because it draws attention to their brand. Be careful about downloading an image or video from a website or other source and then reposting it on your page. Even with attribution, this can be problematic. It is best to send a quick email to the source of the content and ask permission. I am a psychologist, not a lawyer – so be sure to check with legal experts in your local area. There are a wide variety of resources where you can look for Facebook content. Following is a listing of pop- ular Facebook pages broken down by topic. One last tip is to look for Facebook pages that either have a large fol- lowing (i.e., more than 5,000 followers) or a blue check- mark next to their name. This will reduce the chance that you have found a copycat or other illegitimate page. Thomas Crown WWII Story Continued from Page A2 Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory Held 25 th Annual Holiday Memorial Program Richard Traunero Andrea Traunero TIFFIN,OH— Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory recently held its 25th Annual Holiday Memorial Program, where community families commemorated their loved ones who have died this year. Speakers includ- ed Rev. Matthew Rader of St. Mary Catholic Church and Rev. Jesse Caro of United Baptist Church, who spoke on Hope for the Holidays. Attendees were presented with per- sonalized engraved ornaments, which were hung on the Traunero Memori- al Tree when their loved one’s name was called. After the service, the or- naments were given to families to take home to hang on their tree. Re- freshments and fellowship were en- joyed by all afterward. “We are privileged to serve our community, and we are proud to have been presenting this program for 25 years,” said Richard Traune- ro, president of Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory. “It is gratify- ing to see people gather to share their stories and memories, and we are thankful for those families who call on us in their time of need.” Traunero Funeral Home and Cre- matory is family owned and operated and has been serving the Tiffin and Seneca County area since 1900.
