Schop- penhorst Underwood & Brooks experienced tre- mendous growth in the more than four decades since Underwood first pur- chased the initial location. And in 2013, Underwood purchased Hardy-Close, committed to delivering the same level of profes- sional and compassionate care to the community. “Hardy-Close is proud- ly family-owned and all our employees are from the Bullitt County area,” Hardy-Close Vice Presi- dent and Location Man- ager Jimmie Lawson ex- plains. “This gives the Hardy-Close team deep roots in the community. Hardy-Close employees are a staple at all commu- nity events, ranging from car shows to church pic- nic lunches to parades, and they take pride in ac- tive involvement in the community they serve.” Lawson has been serv- ing the families of Bul- litt County as a licensed funeral director for over 30 years, initially start- ing his career working for Arch L.
