Every year, funeral home, cremation, and cem- etery professionals look forward to MKJ Marketing seminars, knowing they will ad- dress the most press- ing issues the industry is facing while offer- ing accommodations in locations that foster imagination, collabo- ration, and inspiration. 2022 will be no exception. The 2021 seminars were a huge success with large attendance in facilities with enhanced cleanliness standards and social distancing in an effort to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all guests. The same stan- dards will be maintained in 2022. Representatives from MKJ’s seminar sponsors will be in attendance (circumstances allowing) from Cre- mation Recycling, C&J Financial, ASD, Answer- ing Services for Directors, and OneRoom. MKJ’s 2022 Ski Summit will be held at the Arra- belle Ski Resort. Attendees will enjoy ski-in and ski- out accommodations right in the heart of downtown Vail. The meeting room will be very large relative to the attendance to allow for social distancing. The dates are February 7–9, 2022, which is prime skiing season. MKJ has negotiated room rates well below the resort’s standard individual room rates. The format will include a combination of seminar sessions with study group participation. MKJ’s 2022 Sea Summit will be held at the Boca Beach Club, which sits beside the Boca Waldorf Asto- ria Hotel. The Waldorf has been closed for two years for a complete remodeling with the grand opening planned for December 2021. The remodeled hotel will include 12 restaurant venues and a “lazy river” that winds through the hotel grounds. The Boca Beach Club is among the finest beach re- sorts in Florida. The seminar dates are March 7–9. Enjoy the freshest Atlantic seafood, play a few rounds of championship golf, or just relax on one of the best beaches in the world. Attendees will be pleasantly surprised to find MKJ’s negotiated nightly cost is just one-third of the normal accommodation rate. Glenn Gould, CEO of MKJ Marketing, will pres- ent on the optimal strategies for marketing budgeting. Marilyn Jones Gould, president of MKJ Marketing, will share constructive new ways to increase averag- es and to improve communication with families us- ing everything from virtual arrangements on Zoom to live chat. MKJ’s CSO and head of digital Courtney Gould Miller will be leading a session on how to cre- ate an online presence for their business that is an as- set, along with details on how to develop a brand that will last (or sell). MKJ’s COO Isaac Miller will give a presentation on how to determine which media plat- form is your best investment. The Sea Summit and all of its exciting content will be available virtually in ad- dition to being an in-person seminar. The following topics will be featured: Create an on- line presence that is an asset; Develop a brand to last (or sell); Establish marketing budget best practices for growth; Improve your arrangers, improve your revenue — there are four styles to sell to, and we in- terviewed top owners on what is most successful in arrangements; Design an in-house ongoing staff de- velopment program for team sizes ranging from five to over 250; Capture all religions, ethnicities, and lifestyles through marketing; and Determine which media is your best investment. A special e-commerce mastermind session on cre- mation website marketing will follow the Sea Sum- mit on March 10, 2022. This is an exclusive oppor- tunity for cremation e-commerce website operators (or those who plan to launch a business in 2022) to gather with other providers and industry profession- als to share best practices. Contact MKJ Marketing for additional information on Mastermind participa- tion and membership. Attendance at the Summit is not required to attend the Mastermind. As always, both summits will be submitted for ap- proval of continuing education credits.
