After the 9/11 attacks, Doug
served at the World Trade
Center site as part of a team
coordinating family assis-
tance.
On a national level, Doug
has also been selected to serve
on the Victim Information
Center (formerly known as
the Family Assistance Cen-
ter), which functions under
the aegis of Health and Hu-
man Services and is an arm
of the Disaster Mortuary
Operational Response Team
(DMORT). After Hurricane
Katrina hit New Orleans in
2005, he was called upon
by Homeland Security and
spent a month in the Gulf
States dealing with hundreds
of casualties in the wake of
the hurricane’s destruction.
Most recently, Doug was in
charge of operations for the
Family Assistance Center as
part of the response to the
tornado disaster in Joplin,
Missouri in May 2011.
Kent is a licensed funer-
al director in the states of
New York and Pennsylva-
nia. The 1980 graduate of
Simmons School of Mortuary
Science
is active in his profes-
sion, serving previously as a
regional governor and cur-
rently as a regional director
of NYSFDA; is a member
of the NYSFDA Budget and
Finance Committee; and
currently is the vice-chair
of Directors Choice Credit
Union. Kent is also a mem-
ber and treasurer of the
Fin-
ger Lakes Funeral Directors
Association
and a member of
the National Funeral Direc-
tors Association.
Before founding his own
funeral home in 2003, Kent
worked for more than twen-
ty years in the profession.
In his community, Kent
is a board member of the
Chemung County Cham-
ber of Commerce, Meals on
Wheels of Chemung Coun-

ty, and founded TLC Limo
in 2011.

Kent.
Martin is a fourth genera-
tion funeral director who
worked with his father and
grandfather at
Henry D.
Halloran Son, Inc.
Named
as manager in 1986, he
owned the business until the
company merged with
Mill-
er Funeral Homes
in 2011.
Martin served as NYSFDA
president from 2013-2014,
president-elect from 2012-
2013, NYSFDA secretary/
treasurer from 2011-2012,
NYSFDA Region #1 Gov-
ernor from 1998-2001, and
served as a NYSFDA State
Director for six years. Martin
is a member, and two-time
past president of the
Roches-
ter Genesee Valley Funeral Di-
rectors Association
(RGVF-
DA) and been a member of
the RGVFDA Board of Di-
rectors for the past 18 years.
Martin is also a member of
the National Funeral Direc-
tors Association.
Martin is a charter mem-
ber of the Henrietta Genesee
Valley Moose Lodge #2290,
3rd and 4th Degree member
of the Knights of Columbus,
a life member of the West
Henrietta Fire Department,
a past chief of the Henrietta
Fire District and a Commis-
sioner of the Henrietta Fire
District for the past 14 years
currently serving as chair-
man of the Board of Com-
missioners. Martin is also a
charter member of the Red-
knights Motorcycle Club
New York chapter #22. Mar-
tin graduated from
Monroe
Community College
with an
Associate of Applied Science
degree in Business Admin-
istration in 1980 and from
Simmons School of Mortuary
Science
in 1981.

Doyle previously served as
NYSFDA immediate past
president from 2013-2014,
president from 2012-2013,
president-elect from 2011-
2012, NYSFDA secretary/
treasurer from 2010-2011,
and is a past regional gover-
nor of NYSFDA, and a past
president of the
Dutchess-
Putnam-Ulster Funeral Di-
rectors Association.
Active in many communi-
ty affairs, Doyle is a mem-
ber of Hospice of Dutchess
County and past chairman
of the Hospice Foundation,
the Council of Alcoholism
Prevention and Education
(CAPE), and the McElroy
Foundation which supports
terminally ill children and
their families. Doyle is also
past co-chair for Relay for
Life, American Cancer So-
ciety, is a regular speaker
for the Victim Impact Pan-
el for Drunk Driving and is
a committee person for the
town of Poughkeepsie Re-
publican Party. Doyle at-
tended
Dutchess Community
College,
attaining an Associ-
ate of Applied Science Busi-
ness degree, and graduated
from
Hudson Valley Commu-
nity College
with a degree in
Mortuary Science.

to enhance the environment
in which its members oper-
ate. More than 900 member
firms and 3300 licensed fu-
neral directors who operate
across the state belong to the
New York State Funeral Di-

NAFSPI Prepares for 2015
FT. LAUDERDALE,FL—
The National Association of
Funeral Service Professionals Inc
(NAFSPI) has an-
nounced they have begun the recruitment of new leaders
for 2015. Those individuals and vendor entities among
the funeral industry may submit an intent of interest
to the association. Positions available will range vastly
throughout the association from additions to the board
of directors, state governors and cabinet members, to new
committee leaders and committee members.
Those who are interested should have time to efficiently
carry out their careers and education as well as have time
to commit to assisting in the continued and future growth
and development of NAFSPI. Apprentices and students are
encouraged to submit their interest as NAFSPI will mentor
these individuals and aid their future growth in the industry.
