He has been employed at his parent’s business, Hahn-Groeber Funeral Homes as a funeral director’s assistant since 2006. RAYMOND WASHINGTON JORDAN of Darlington, SC died July 23, 2022. He was a licensed funeral director and owner of Jordan Funeral Home in Darlington, SC. HERBERT ALLENMITCHELL SR of Hickory, NC died July 28, 2022 at the age of 84. He and his wife, April established the Mitchell Funeral Home in Hickory, NC in 1968 and a second location in Newton, NC in 1982. Mitchell graduated from the Gupton-Jones college of Funeral Service in 1967. LARRY MILTON SAUNDERS of Gainesville, FL died July 26, 2022 at the age of 72. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he worked at Chestnut Funeral Home for 53 years. Saunders graduated from the Miami-Dade College of Mortuary Science. tablishing the Weber Funeral Home in 1965. For more than fifty-seven years he lived there and managed the funeral home. A 1961 graduate of the Eckels College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Burlington County Funeral Directors Association and the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association. THOMAS E. WEBER of Riverton, NJ died August 11, 2022 at the age of 82. He began working as a teenager for the local funeral director in Beverly, where he was introduced to his life’s work in funeral service. Weber worked-full time as a licensed funeral director in Philadelphia and South Jersey before esHeath Funeral Home in Middleport in 1973 and the Bates Cleary Funeral Home in Medina in 1982. Bates operated the funeral home in Middleport until he retired in 2015. A 1963 graduate of the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service, he served as the sexton for St. Stephen’s Cemetery for thirty-five years. DENNIS G. BATES of Middleport, NY died July 20, 2022 at the age of 78. A licensed funeral director since 1965, he worked at Gual Funeral Home in Lockport before purchasing the Bates, Wallace and City funeral homes, including the Frank E. Campbell, Walter B. Cooke, Riverside Chapel, Jeffer’s Brothers and National Funeral Car. After moving to Delaware in 2003, Frank spent fourteen years at Parsell Funeral Home and Crematorium. He was a graduate of the McAllister Institute of Mortuary Science. FRANK R. BASILE SR of Rehoboth Beach, FL died August 12, 2022 at the age of 79. He co-owned Strong-Basile Funeral Home with his wife, Barbara. A turnaround specialist for Service Corporation International, he worked at the several New York his wife, Lorraine, moved to Manchester in 1957, where he took a position with the former Letendre Funeral Service. In 1972, he joined McHugh Funeral Home, serving as a funeral director, then as general manager until his retirement in 2003. Moe graduated from the New England Institute of Anatomy and Embalming in 1956. MAURICE “MOE” E. APRIL of Port Charlotte, FL and longtime resident of Manchester, NH died August 9, 2022 at the age of 92. In 1956, Moe became a licensed funeral director in the state of New Hampshire and was employed by Anctil Funeral Home in Nashua. He and and operated the Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook and Rhinebeck. A 1969 graduate of the Simmons School of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association, where he served on the PrePlan Trust Board of Directors and the Funeral Service Education Task Force. KENNETH G. GIEK of Red Hook. NY died July 21, 2022 at the age of 74.
