of Cincinnati, OH died July
21, 2015 at the age of 92. He
was a second generation fu-
neral director and owner of
Frederick Funeral Home.
He was a past president of
the
Ohio Funeral Directors
Association.
WILLIAM JAMES WILLIS, SR
of Dalton, GA died July 11,
2015 at the age of 91. He and
his wife,
Dorothy Sprowl
Willis,
co-founded
Willis
Funeral Home
in 1949. He
graduated from the
Atlanta
College of Mortuary Science
in
1947.
JOHN E. MALLETTA
of Pol-
son, MT died July 20, 2015
at the age of 74. After com-
pleting his apprenticeship in
Butte, he moved to Missou-
la where he worked at
Marsh
and Powell
later to become
Livingston and Malletta
Funeral Home.
He later ac-
quired the first of several fu-
neral homes and cemeteries
located in Montana, Idaho,
Washington and Oregon. He graduated from the
San
Francisco College of Mortuary Science.
LESLI BARKDULL NEAL
of
Shelby, OH died July 21,
2015 at the age of 54. In Sep-
tember of 1985 she came to
work with the family busi-
ness and received her funer-
al directors license in 1987.
Upon her father’s retirement
in 1994, she became a fifth
generation co-owner of the
Barkdull Funeral Home
.
She was a member of the
Ohio Funeral Directors Association
and the
National
Funeral Directors Association.
ALFRED STANLEY “AL” DODSON, JR
of Sand
Springs, OK died July 23, 2015 at the age of 77.
He was a licensed funeral director, embalmer and
former owner of
Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service,
which was established in 1915. He retired from the
funeral home in 2009 after about 27 years with his
family’s company.
MARK LIGGETT HALL
of
Warren, OH died August 4,
2015 at the age of 87. He was
a licensed funeral director for
over 50 years and served as
president of the
Carl W. Hall
Funeral Service, Inc
for 28
years. He graduated from the
Cleveland College of Mortuary
Science.
ARMAND
LOUIS
“BIG
DADDY” CHARBONNET
of
New Orleans, LA died July
9, 2015 at the age of 84. He
was the vice president and
co-proprietor of
Charbon-
net-Labat-Glapion Funeral
Homes,
which was founded
by his grandparents in 1883
and is one of the oldest funer-
al homes in the country. An
elaborate traditional funeral,
complete with a level of pomp and circumstance that
is rarely seen today even in New Orleans, was held.
Planned by the family, the
Crescent City FDA
directed
the events so the family could mourn their loss.
JIM WARD
of Klamath Falls,
OR died July 28, 2015 at the
age of 72. He was a third gener-
ation funeral director and own-
er of
Ward’s Klamath Funeral
Home Inc,
which was estab-
lished in the 1920s. He was a
member and served as president
of the
Oregon Funeral Directors
Association.
He was appointed
to a four year term to the Or-
egon Mortuary and Cemetery
Board in 1999 by Gov. John Kitzhaber. He was later re-
appointed to the board by Gov. Ted. Kulongoski.
ADAM WADE WILLIM
of Richmond, MO, formerly of
Clarion, IA died July 16, 2015 at the age of 48. After
working as funeral directors in Alaska, Adam and his
brother
Bart
moved to Minnesota to own and operate
the
Willim Family Funeral Homes
in Aitkin, Pequot
Lakes and Pine River, which was later sold. He graduated
from the
Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
