A licensed funeral director, cosmetologist and EMT, she was the owner of Fraker Funeral Home, which she co-owned alongside her husband, Gary Fraker since 1972 as well as the Fraker Ambulance Service from 1972 to 1975. DORIS JUNE WILLIAMSJAMES of Olivette, MO died April 28, 2022 at the age of 89. In 1977 she and a friend established the WhitfieldJames Mortuary. In 1996, James became the owner and president of the firm until present. JOSEPH MICHAEL NERO of Garfield Heights, OH died July 4, 2022 at the age of 66. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Joseph J. Vito and mother, Lois as a third-generation funeral director at Vito Nero Funeral Home. Nero was a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association. NICOLE T. SIMULYNAS of Leicester, MA died June 16, 2022 at the age of 28. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, she worked for the J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Homes of Spencer and Leicester since 2019. A graduate of the FINE Mortuary College, Simulynas was a member of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association. JACK MACKELLAR SPRINGER of Chicago, IL died July 4, 2022, at the age of 92. He served as an account manager at SmithBucklin and Associates where his diverse portfolio had included many years as the Executive Director of the Cremation Association of North America. RUSSELL E. TRUBY of Oakmont, PA formerly of Springdale, PA died July 4, 2022 at the age of 67. A funeral director, he was the owner and operator of Burket-Truby Funeral Home since 1981. Truby was a member of the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association. FRED N. VORAN SR of Allen Park, MI died June 2, 2022 at the age of 94. A funeral director, he owned and operated Voran Funeral Home. The Allen Park Chapel was co-founded with his brothers Denny and Nick in 1951, followed by Dearborn Chapel in 1960 and Taylor Chapel in 1966. LORENZO WRIGHT SR of Prattville, AL died May 30, 2022 at the age of 68. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer for over fifty years. Wright was a member of both the Alabama and National Funeral Directors and Morticians Associations. in Gary, IN in 1972 and the C. B. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc on Chicago’s Westside in 1982. A graduate of the Worsham College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Alumni Association of the Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Illinois Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association and the Flying Funeral Directors Association. CHARLES B. TAYLOR of Chicago, IL died June 30, 2022 at the age of 93. A funeral director, he owned and operated the Taylor Funeral Home, which he established in 1963 alongside his late wife, Leyeuna A. Taylor. They also established the Gary Oak Hill Cemetery na for fifty-five years. During 1967-1968 Bell volunteered to be a civilian mortician under the Department of the Army, Mortuary Service. He was then assigned to the Air Base Saigon, Vietnam where he gave care to 836 casualties so they could be returned home for burial. HUGH CONKLIN BELL of Shenandoah, IA died June 2, 2022 at the age of 98. He was a licensed funeral director in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Arizothe Tobias-Conner Funeral Home in 1990. In 1999 Brian and his wife, Donna acquired the Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Greater Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association and served as secretary/treasurer of the 4th District of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association. BRIAN LEMOYNE KOCH of Bellbrook, OH died June 27, 2022 at the age of 56. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he began working for his parents, Steve and Kathy Conner as managing director of al Home. A graduate of the Worsham College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the International Order of the Golden Rule, president of the National Funeral Directors Association from 1974-1975 and was appointed to the Task Force on Professional Certification, now known as the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practitioners. EDWARD J. FITZGERALD of Elephant Butte, NM died June 27, 2022 at the age of 89. He joined his father, Robert M. Fitzgerald at the French Family Funeral Homes in Albuquerque. In the early 60’s, Ed and his father opened Fitzgerald and Son Funer- Castle, IN and assumed ownership until of it until late 1970 when he joined Dodge Chemical Company as a salesperson. Sheets retired in 2011. A graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Indiana Funeral Directors Association, Illinois Funeral Directors Association and the Iowa Funeral Directors Association. JIM SHEETS of Indianapolis, IN died July 9, 2022 at the age of 83. He began his funeral directing career at the C. M. Sloan and Co Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, IN. Sheets later provided service at Rogers Funeral Home, Myers Funeral Home, Eikenberry Funeral Home in Lafayette, IN.
