He’s a young mil- itary veteran who has tattoos and loves cars. While he still works on call for Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home , he joined the staff of Springfield Coach Group (SCG) to pursue his love of automobiles. But, Dustin couldn’t leave the funeral industry completely behind. “Upon coming to the company, I inquired about de- signing and building hearses,” Dustin says. With Dustin’s background, he was able to provide detailed information on what an ideal hearse should consist of. “I gave the owners every aggravation I have ever had with a hearse or removal vehicle,” he says. “We went to work on designing hearses that gave a very high value in terms of perception, but didn’t have to be as expen- sive as what you pay for from the older companies out there.” SCG unveiled their hearse limo at the NFDA convention and saw im- mediate success. They began work on an ideal removal vehicle in mid-December of 2019, and it was released just before CO- VID-19 really hit the United States hard.
