A licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1975, he became dual licensed in the state of Alaska in 2004, then in 2010 became licensed in Wisconsin as well. Brown graduated from the Central State University in Edmond, OK with a degree in mortuary science. JOHN C. HALL JR of Martin, KY died January 31, 2023 at the age of 75. He was a funeral director, embalmer and co-owned Hall Funeral Home for over forty years. JOHNNIE EUGENE MILLER of San Antonio, TX died December 28, 2022 at the age of 95. A funeral director and embalmer since 1952, he briefly served Carter-Taylor Williams Mortuary. Miller graduated from the Landig College of Mortuary Science in 1948. JOHNWILLIAM RAMSEUR SR of Rock Hill, SC died January 10, 2023 at the age of 87. A leader in the mortuary industry for decades, he joined his family’s business, Robinson Funeral Home in 1960 and later became the manager, president and eventually owner. Ramseur served as the first African-American president of the South Carolina Board of Funeral Service M. DAVID RICHMAN of Hartford City, IN died January 12, 2023 at the age of 91. He was a funeral director in Indiana until his retirement in 1990. Richman was a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. rector, he and his wife, Mary owned and operated Bomberger-Lesko Funeral Home. A graduate of the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service, he was a member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Lackawanna County Funeral Directors Association and was a preceptor for several local funeral directors. MARK J. LESKO SR of North Scranton, PA died January 17, 2023 at the age of 70. A licensed funeral didirector at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home in Reese since 1974, having worked for the firm since 1968, often driving back and forth between the Reese and Midland locations. A member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, he graduated from Wayne State University in 1971 with a degree in mortuary science. RICHARD J. “RICH” STRUTHERS of Reese, MI died January 28, 2023 at the age of 73. He was a funeral majority stockholder. Woodard retired upon his declining heath. A graduate of the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, he was a member of the Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity, Independent Funeral Directors Association of Texas, National Funeral Directors Association and Morticians Association, and the Alamo Funeral Directors Association of Texas. REMUS D. WOODARD of San Antonio, TX died October 28, 2022 at the age of 88. He worked as a licensed funeral director and embalmer at Sutton-Sutton Mortuary, where he eventually became owner and ness, Haut Funeral Home as an apprentice embalmer in 1984 and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 1985. Roger continued to serve the funeral home for 37 years. A 1984 graduate of the Mid-America College of Funeral Service, he was a member of the Gackle Cemetery Board. ROGER J. HAUT of Jamestown, ND died January 9, 2023 at the age of 59. He entered the family busia licensed funeral director, having held the oldest active licenses in North Dakota at the time of his death. In 1960 he and his wife, Mae purchased the Foley Funeral Home in Rolla and operated it, along with ambulance service for several years, until they retired in 2002. Niewoehner graduated from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1957. HENRY WEYBURN NIEWOEHNER VI of Minot, ND died January 13, 2023 at the age of 89. He worked for several funeral homes in Illinois and North Dakota as director since 1954, he worked at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home and Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center in Kokomo. A graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. PAUL E. “DIGGER” PFETTSCHER of Kokomo, IN died January 19, 2023 at the age of 91. A licensed funeral side his father, brother, and son at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home for over sixty-six years. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Funeral Directors Association and the Ohio Embalmers Association. JERRY JAGERS of Athens, OH died January 28, 2023 at the age of 89.
