PERINE of Shinnston, WV died Febru- ary 5, 2021 at the age of 58. A funeral director for over 35 years, he founded Perine Fu- neral Home in 2005. Perine graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1985. SONDRA SUE BLANTON GORE of Blacksburg, SC died January 28, 2021 at the age of 72. A funer- al director, she worked alongside her husband, Cor- bett Cline Gore, Jr at the Corson Removal Service in Charlotte before establishing White Columns Fu- neral Service in 1996. Gore graduated from Lime- stone College in 1999. DAVID G. KNIGHT of Shadyside, OH died Janu- ary 8, 2021 at the age of 74. He worked alongside his wife, Donna and daughter Sara S. Henthorn as the owner and operator of Knight Manufacturing Com- pany, which was founded by his grandfather, Har- ley Knight and Willard Knight in 1935. Knight ac- quired Belmont Stamping Company in 1986. He served on the board of directors for the Casket and Funeral Supply Association. HAROLD C. HENRY of Mount Clemens, MI died January 21, 2021 at the age of 84. In the mid-1980s, he along with the late Bobby Hill , James Fishback Sr and Irene Henry, created United Memorial Funeral Home. al Ladies Auxiliary. She and her late husband, Vernon L. Wal- lace invited students from the Worsham and Malcolm X Col- lege of Funeral Service to serve their internships. Wallace later established the Vernon L. Wal- lace and Glays E. Wallace Mor- tuary Scholarships to help stu- dents pursuing a degree in mortuary science. GLADYS EDWARDS WALLACE of Broadview, IL died January 22, 2021 at the age of 84. She co-found- ed the Wallace Broadview Funeral Home in 1988 and was member of the 100 Black Women of Funeral Ser- vice, Illinois Select Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, where she formerly served as president of the Nation- tion, he worked for Schmidt and Barlet Funeral Home in Milwaukee. Mayer worked for Taylor Funeral Home in Rib Lake, eventually purchasing it. He continued to own and op- erate it from 1961 until 1977, when he sold the business. He built and operated the funeral home in Prentice. CHARLES “CHUCK” G. MAYER of Chelsea, WI died January 23, 2021 at the age of 94. MAHER of Saint James, NY died De- cember 25, 2020 at the age of 70. A licensed funeral director since 1974, he served his internship and res- idency at Garlick Funeral Homes in Brooklyn and was hired as the assistant manager of the Garden City operated it alongside the Va- lade Funeral Home in North Grosvenor Dale, which they purchased in 1980. They re- tired in 2003. A graduate of the New England Institute of Mortuary Science, he was a member and past president of the C onnecticut Funeral Di- rectors Association and a mem- ber of the National Funeral Directors Association. LAWRENCE JAMES BELLEROSE of Putnam, CT died January 14, 2021 at the age of 82. He was the former owner of the Gilman and Valade Funeral Homes of Putnam and North Grosvenor Dale, CT. Bellerose began working for the Gilman family at the age of 16. He served his apprenticeship with James T. Pratt Funeral Service in Hartford. In 1973, af- ter 15 years working with the Gilman family, he pur- chased the firm. He and his wife, Arlene, owned and HOWARD M. BONIFACE JR of Rensselaer, NY January 23, 2021 at the age of 77. He was a li- censed funeral director at the Wm. J Rockefeller Funeral Home in Rensselaer for twenty years before retiring. Boniface graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in 1955 with an associate’s de- gree in mortuary science and was a member of the Capital District Funeral Directors Association. JACK EUGENE FROST of Bra- selton, GA died January 20, 2021 at the age of 89. He was the own- er and operator of Memorial Park Funeral Homes and Cemeteries in Gainesville, Flowery Branch and Braselton for over 50 years.
