BOSTON,MA—
Tributes, Inc.,
the online source for
local and national obituary news, announced that
Jim
Barron
has joined the company, effective January 1,
2013, to lead its efforts to expand the company’s pres-
ence within the funeral home channel in the Western
half of the country.
A Michigan resident, Jim joins the Tributes.com team
most recently from
Batesville Casket Company
as Di-
rector of Sales for their Northeast region. In addition to
his many years in the funeral profession, Jim also brings
several years of software sales experience to the position,
providing an important balance of funeral service and
technology sales expertise. Jim’s role, along with that of
the rest of the Tributes.com sales force, is squarely fo-
cused on helping funeral homes understand how to en-
hance and leverage the internet and their online obitu-
ary programs to meet the increasing consumer demand
for enhanced digital services while driving new revenue
streams, leads, and brand awareness within their local
communities and beyond.
“The Tributes.com business continues to rapidly
evolve and 2013 will be an important inflection year
for us in terms of continued channel development and
revenue growth,” said
Elaine Haney
, CEO and Pres-
ident of Tributes, Inc. “As we evaluated the chang-
ing needs of the business as we enter our next growth
phase, it became clear that it was very important for
us to add another senior sales executive to our team to
complement the efforts of
John Heald
who has done a
remarkable job in establishing the Tributes.com brand
within the funeral profession over the course of the last
four years. With Jim’s arrival John will now have the
opportunity to have a more concentrated focus on the
Eastern half of the country and I will look to Jim to
help us continue to incorporate improved systems and
processes to help better manage the day-to-day activi-
ties of a growing team.”
“Ours is a profession of constant change. To not adapt
to these dynamics is in and of itself an invitation to
fail. Funeral service leaders must be mindful of con-
sumer’s evolving needs while providing a deliverable
that reflects the sensibilities of the lives we help cel-
ebrate and the stories we help tell,” said
James Bar-
ron
, Vice President of West Coast Sales of Tributes,
Inc. “Tributes.com embraces that focus and I am very
pleased to be a part of the corporate team.”
Tributes.com is the online source for current local
and national obituary news and a supportive com-
munity where friends and family can come togeth-
er during times of loss and grieving to honor the

tination, with over 90 million current and historical
death records dating back to the 1930s, Tributes has
made obituary and online memorial service informa-
tion easily accessible. The site has experienced rapid
growth since its launch in the fall of 2008, and is now
relied on by thousands of funeral homes and close to 3
