Jody is a mortician at Metro First Call located in Savage, MN. Among the seminars she completed are the Embalming Skills Seminar; Soft Tis- sue Injuries, Waxing and Airbrush Cosmetics Seminar; Advanced Post Mortem Reconstructive Surgery Seminar; and Advanced II Post Mor- tem Reconstructive Surgery Seminar held at the Fountain National Acad- emy training facility. Fountain National Academy’s world headquarters is based in Spring- field, MO with representatives in Ire- land and Australia along with seven- teen goodwill ambassadors around the world. Internationally recognized founder and instructor, Vernie R. LaCourt Completes all Seminars at Fountain National Academy Vernie Fountain (Right) congratulates Jody LaCourt AUSTIN,TX— The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), the world’s leading professional association dedicated to serving the professional needs of inde- pendent funeral homes, has announced that the OGR Foundation is now accept- ing applications for its Awards of Excel- lence Scholarship Program. The OGR Foundation will award two scholarships, one for $3,500 and another for $2,000 in 2018. Scholarships are award- ed on merit and will be presented at OGR’s 2018 Annual Conference and Solution Center in Savannah, GA on April 5, 2018. The Awards of Excellence Scholarship Program provides scholarships to stu- dents based on strong academic perfor- mance, funeral service experience, and the strength of their essays. Applicants will have the opportunity to be listed in the OGR job bank as a new benefit this year. To be eligible, applicants must be cur- rently enrolled in a mortuary science de- gree program at an accredited mortuary school, be scheduled to graduate during 2018, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and commit to working for an in- dependently owned funeral home.
