Grief Awareness Day on November 15 by
wearing something blue. Children’s Grief
Awareness Day is observed annually the

ognized throughout the United States and

Children’s Grief Awareness Day is an op-
portunity to let grieving children know
that they are not forgotten in the midst
of their grief.
Additionally, PIMS students visit
The
Caring Place
, a center for grieving children,
adolescents, and their families. The Car-

Certified Aftercare
Provider Program to be
offered in Buffalo
BUFFALO,NY—
Certified
Aftercare Provider train-
ing will be offered April
11-12, 2013 at
Pine Lawn
Cemetery Chapel
in Buf-
falo. A Certified Aftercare
Provider creates a lasting
relationship with families
following their loved one’s
funeral. They can reach
families in a new way and
create positive communi-
ty outreach opportunities.
Aftercare programs allow
funeral homes to offer
something beyond the or-
dinary and to make more
of a difference in the lives
of the families they serve.
The two-day training
will enable attendees to:
understand the unique
journey of grief; discov-
er the Power of Presence;
know how to put togeth-
er a meaningful commu-
nity memorial service;
find ways to keep from
burning out and melting
down; appreciate why af-
tercare makes good busi-
ness sense; and have a
concrete Plan of Action to
start a program immedi-
ately.
